give it away!
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)
In 2004, Carla and I started a project. I know, this sounds like a “honey-do” that never got done. But this was different. We were sure of what we hoped to accomplish. We were certain about writing a book called Before Forever. The idea was to help couples work through the ol’ Should we get married? question.
You’ll just know whether or not to get married, most people say.
Research estimates 2.5 million couples annually ask the tough “how do you know” questions prior to marriage. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know marriages need help. Twenty years of preparing engaged couples for marriage has shown Carla and me that mate selection, the pre-engaged process, may be the most important component to a satisfying marriage.
I don’t know about you, but I love it when I am struggling with a question and someone hands me a book that challenges my thinking. This usually helps me ask more questions behind that original question. In turn that leads to a deeper understanding.
That is our hope for Before Forever. That it will bring a deeper understanding of marriage and faith. “For it is impossible to please God without faith” (Heb. 11:6.)
I am certain God wants to help young couples in the process. You can help. Purchase copies of Before Forever, and help us put it in the right hands of those asking "How do you know that you know?" [Click here to order copies]
